API granted its annual awards

On February 5 this year, API nominated the winners of its annual Contests (2009) for journalists.

The contest was on its nineth consecutive edition, standing for a domestic competition of newspapers under the Association of Independent Press. The jury appointed the winners for the seven categories. The awards for the category „The best journalist” went to Tatiana Eţco and Victor Moşneag, both from „Ziarul de Gardă” investigation newspaper; „The best journalistic investigation”, in API jury’s opinion, was performed by Mariana Raţă from „Jurnal de Chişinău”; Nicolae Sanduleac from „Unghiul” newspaper from Ungheni was nominated as „The best manager”, whereas Andrei Suzanscki from Baltsi „SP” publication shot „The best photograph of the year”. Campaign „Call to account for public money!” carried on

The Association of Independent Press (API) gladly announces the commencement of the second stage of press campaign „Call to account for public money!”, following to monitor the public procurement unfolded in eight towns from Republic of Moldova. The campaign was initiated and is supported financially by Soros-Moldova Foundation.  more 


Railway of Moldova forced to ensure access to information
Downtown Court of Justice from Chisinau municipality obliged the State Enterprise „Railway of Moldova” (CFM) to furnish information on the construction of Cahul-Giurgiuleşti railroad sector to the Association of Independent Press (API).

In July 2009, API addressed Moldova Railway General Director, Miron Găgăuz, with the request to provide data on the investments made by CFM in the construction of Cahul-Giurgiuleşti railroad sector, on companies contracted by CFM for such works and other related information.  more 


Chairwoman of R. Moldova’s Press Council
Ludmila Andronic, editor-in-chief of „Business class” magazine, was appointed as Chairwoman of Press Council from Republic of Moldova during the first sitting of the Council dated with Friday, January 22nd, 2010.  more
